Malachi David Ruscigno

When Khylie was around 5-6months old we had decided we wanted to add another addition to our family we were just ''talking" about the idea of it. so on January 10th 2007 I was sitting outside talking with my hubby when i out of the blue realized that i was 3 days late on my period but i wasnt SURE because i didn't really keep track of my periods. but i was pretty sure that i was late. so a few days later Tim goes out and buys us a pregnancy test and i wasn't going to take it until my FMP so i woke up around 430am because i was so anxious and sure enough there were 2 dark lines. I was actually nervous more then i was excited idk why i was but i was.

in February of 07' i had my first OB apt with the same dr i had my first with. and she did a u/s and it showed that i was 10 weeks 1days pregnant.

My pregnancy was SO different from Khylies i felt a little sick but i wasnt as bad as my first.
i was SO tired all the time tho.

around 11-12weeks pregnant i had to take the GD testing to see if they can diagnose my diabetes early in pregnancy since i had it previously so i  had to do the 3 hour test [[ughh]] and that came back fine for now.

fast forwards to may i had the big u/s which turned out to be BOY [[i saw even before the tech said anything]] which was NO surprise to me. i had a feeling from day 1 that i was having a boy i just knew in my heart that he was a boy and i was right. Tim and I were very excited to be having a boy since we already had a girl.

at 26 weeks pregnant i took the GD test again and sure enough i had Gestational Diabetes yet again which was typical we expected it. however this time it was more worse then my first pregnancy. this time i had to be on insulin. it was scary to me. to poke myself in the stomach with a needle once a day before bedtime. i couldn't do it really so i always had Tim do it for me cus i chickened out doing it myself. no fun!

around 35 weeks pregnant yet again i went into pre labor and was at the hospital and they had to give me a pill yet again to stop it.and so it did

fast fowards to 38.5 weeks. My sister Janell has been planning to be here for the birth of Malachi she didnt want to miss it so we tried everything to get me to go into labor, we went for walks, i ate 2 hot bags of cheetos haha! i was already 3cm dialted so i figured why not take the castor oil? seeing its harmless i went to walmart w./ my sister and picked up a bottle of it. i really didnt expect it to work but at 9pm i took 4TBSP of it mixed with pepsi i was having mild contractions all day long so i went to bed.

i woke up from my sleep at 4am with i guess were contractions. seeing i was induced with my first i really didnt know what to expect so i went to the bathroom and saw that there was a ton of blood in the toilet and i freaked out i ran and woke tim up and i said we need to go to the hospital NOW. everyone else was still sound asleep so i quietly woke up my sister and told her that Tim will be right back to get her cus we live RIGHT down the street literally like a 5min car ride from the hospital.
so we go to the hospital and by that time i am contracting every 2-4mins and they were SO painful they checked me into triage and a nurse checked me and said i was shocked when the nurse said i was 8cm dilated. WHAT? Tim rushed home to go get my bags and my sister while i was getting a room

i wanted the epidural so badly i was in such hard labor so we signed the paperwork and i was getting the Ivs put in. my sister and Tim showed up to help me and they were putting wash cloths on my face and what not and i had the urge to puke so my sister held the bowl while i upchucked 3 times.
at that point i was yelling for the epi i couldnt do it anymore i wanted it so badly. so the dr comes in and checks me and i was still 8cm and so she breaks my water by that time it was around 625am and then i felt this sudden urge to push but i tried not to, a nurse checks me and i am fully dialted. right when the epi guy comes. so of course it was to late. and i had to do it ALL on my own all natural. i was freaking out cus i never felt this pain before it felt like someone had a lighter on my crotch litterally.
well i felt the need to push again since my dr was there and ready i pushed and i pushed 2 big pushes and bam Malachi David Ruscigno was born at 6:57am on September 4th 2007

they quickly laid him on my chest for about an hour and then they cleaned him up with Tims help and weighed him. he was 7lbs 9oz 21inches. he was SO tiny for being 7lbs he looked and felt like he was 5lbs because of my insulin he didn't have much meat on his bones so he was just really long and lean which was why he was 7lbs.

everything went great until they told me that he has a heart murmer. me and Tim looked at each other with such fear in our eyes as we were told something might be wrong with our sons heart.
the dr informed us that it was normal and it can possibly go away on its own. so we stayed and extra night just to be sure, and sure enough it DID go away thank the Lord.
we were able to go home a few hours later!

well that's the story w/ Malachi David :)
